For the ancient Egyptians, Yah was the moon god (crescent moon) and the personification of the two moon deities Thoth and Khonsu. He was usually depicted as a man with the head of a falcon. His symbols were variously the ibis, falcon and new moon. Yah was worshipped at Thebes and Hermopolis. This bronze statuette of the seated god Yah is a copy of the original from the Hermitage collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
