Over two and a half thousand years ago Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II (605-562 BC) had built, on the bare sandy plateau of Mesopotamia, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world – the Hanging Gardens of Babylon of queen Semiramis. Fabulous flowers amid luscious greenery, a barely discernible murmuring of streams, the sweet singing of tropical birds, it was a man-made paean to youth and bueaty! Russian jewelers made something worthy not only of beauty, but of time as well. Malachite, one of the most powerful magical gems, was selected as the base material. This mineral bestows intellectual and physical strength on its owner. The body of the clock and the two delicate columns to which it is attached, as well as the base are all made from the same treasured stone. The unusual structure of the clock is adorned with Swarovski crystals which set off the intense palette of greens. This malachite Hanging Gardens of Babylon clock will be a delicate compliment to its future owner.
