The book is a monography that for the first time in the history of national and foreign studies of art unveils the phenomena of the influence Alexander's portraits  had on depicting heroes and gods in Hellenistic era. "Alexander's type" - is a concept used in stylistic evolution.  The monography studies the  historiography of the Alexander's portraits, "the problem of imitation" in the context of Hellenistic era and main mythological images that were influenced by Alexander's iconography (Achilles, Heracles, Dionis, Gelios, giants and water gods).  Hellenistic era - the end of the classic art tradition- witnesses the reflection of "Alexander's type" in the mythological images and the rise of the new system of values.
