The design on this bag is the outline of Henri Matisse’s famous panel, The Dance, painted for the town house of the well-known Russian art collector, Sergei Shchukin. The picture shows five nude figures dancing on a hill top. The contrasting palette of colors and the fluidity of the image creates an optical illusion – as you look, it seems that the figures are on the point of leaving the canvas and swirling round you in a madcap dance. The black and white print of this famous masterpiece emphasizes the expressive quality of the lines, and the dynamism of the image. The bag is made from eco-friendly 100% cotton and will serve as both a souvenir and a useful bag in which to carry books and art materials.
