In the 19th century such pill boxes made from valuable Urals malachite were commissioned by members of the royal family as gifts for loyal subjects in recognition of services to the Fatherland. This pill box has been skillfully copied by modern craftsmen from drawings of original pieces from that period. It is impossible not to admire the special incrustation method, with little chips of malachite inlaid in a mosaic style, lending a particular charm to the item.
