This magical little doll was born from the artistic hands of a St Petersburg seamstress. The tradition of making dolls like this dates back many centuries, when women made dolls for their children from scraps of fabric and different colored threads. In the 19th century it became fashionable to give dolls made from brocade and silk and decorated with embroidery and lace as Christmas presents and decorations. The face and hands for these dolls were often molded from porcelain and then painted. This small angel figure will make a cute Christmas souvenir for children and adults alike, and will introduce a festive mood and sense of comfort to your home.
